“They wanted her to abort my baby” – Peter Okoye breakdown in fresh allegation

Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has become emotional while recounting what he described as one of the most painful chapters of his life, alleging that his brothers opposed the pregnancy of his then-girlfriend, Lola Omotayo, and wanted her to terminate it.

The singer made the disclosure in the eighth instalment of his ongoing video series, in which he has been sharing his version of the events surrounding the eventual collapse of his relationship with his twin brother, Paul Okoye, known professionally as Rudeboy, and their elder brother, Jude Okoye.

Peter said he was 27 when Lola became pregnant with their first child.

Rather than allow the news to reach the public through another source, he said he chose to make the announcement himself at the Soundcity Awards while accepting an award.

“When I was 27 years old, my girlfriend then, Lola, became pregnant.

“I didn’t want the news to break from someone else, so I decided to announce it myself. We attended the Soundcity Awards, and after receiving the award, I dedicated it to God Almighty, our fans, and everyone who had supported us.

“Lastly, I dedicated it to the mother of my unborn child. Immediately after that, Jude and Paul walked out, saying my announcement would ruin our career.”

According to Peter, the reaction from his brothers went beyond disagreement with the public announcement.

He alleged that they insisted Lola should terminate the pregnancy and even attempted to undermine his belief that he was the father of the child.

“They insisted that Lola should abo.rt the baby. They even forged an email to frame her, claiming the child wasn’t mine and accusing her of using the pregnancy to trap me.”

Peter became tearful as he recounted the episode, describing it as an experience that continues to hurt him because of the people involved.

He alleged that attempts to question Lola’s motives and the paternity of the child added another layer of pain to an already difficult period.

Despite the opposition he says he encountered, Peter maintained that he stood by Lola and decided to continue their relationship.

His account forms part of a wider series in which the singer has been publicly revisiting the history of the once-celebrated music partnership between the Okoye brothers and the events that eventually fractured the family and ended the PSquare era.

The latest instalment shifts the focus from music and business disputes to a deeply personal chapter involving love, family pressure and the birth of Peter’s first child.
