Two arrested for stealing more than 20,000 TL worth of appetizers from markets in Karşıyaka and Alsancak

Lefkoşa, August 5, 2025 — Two individuals have been arrested in separate theft incidents that occurred in Karşıyaka and Alsancak, according to a statement from the Police Press Office.

The first incident took place on July 9, 2025, at approximately 9:30 AM in Karşıyaka. T.K., a 29-year-old male employee of a local barbershop, was found to have stolen ₺20,850 in cash, a mobile phone, and the front door key of the business. He was taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation.

In the second case, 55-year-old E.A., a female employee of a market in Alsancak, was arrested after allegedly stealing 500 grams of meze from the store’s kitchen area. The incident occurred on July 25, 2025, at around 6:00 PM.

Police confirmed that both suspects were arrested and that investigations into both cases are ongoing.
