27-year-old Nigerian man injured in workplace accident involving power saw in north Cyprus

İskele, August 5, 2025 — A 27-year-old man, was injured in a workplace accident while operating a portable miter saw during a flooring installation in İskele. 

According to a statement from the Police Press Office, the incident occurred on August 4, 2025, at around 3:00 PM.

The injured man named only as TIJ reportedly injured his left middle finger after it became caught in the blade of the power tool while cutting wooden parquet flooring. 

He was initially treated at Gazimağusa State Hospital and later transferred to Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Lefkoşa for further medical care.

Following treatment, the victim was discharged.

Authorities have confirmed that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
