Man arrested in Girne for defrauding victim of $350,000 in investment scam

A man has been arrested in Girne in connection with an investment fraud case that allegedly took place between February and July 2024. 

According to a statement from the police, the suspect, identified as 32-year-old İ.C.E., posed as an authorized representative of an investment firm and convinced a victim to invest in a scheme that, in reality, had no legitimate business operations.

Police investigations revealed that the suspect obtained $350,000 from the victim under the guise of false investment promises. The suspect was apprehended following an extensive investigation conducted by law enforcement.

Authorities confirmed that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
