Fire breaks out in Gönyeli apartment

A fire broke out on the 7th floor of an apartment opposite Kolan British Hospital in Gönyeli on Thursday morning damaging properties worth thousands of Liras. 

The incident at the Sabahattin Bayraktaroglu Apartment which happened at 9:00am on Thursday also touched the 8th floor of the 9-storey building. 

According to report, the fire is said to have resulted from a washing machine. 

The fire was put off following the intervention of fire fighters.

An elderly occupant of the apartment with two grand children were rescued from the burning apartment. 

The kitchen of the apartment was totally burnt while several properties in the apartment were damaged.
