Dangerous accident along Lefkosa-Girne high-way injures three

Three people have been injured in a traffic accidents along the Lefkosa-Girne express road on Thursday afternoon after a car fell into a ditch.

According to information released by the police, the accident happened at about 1:45pm between kilometer 14 and 15 of the Lefkosa-Girne highway close to Ciklos. 

The report adds that the car driver Hasan Çelik, 20 who sustained serious injury in the accident was driving carelessly under speed and is said to have lost control and fell into a 5 meter deep creek.

Both the drivers and two other passengers were trapped in the vehicle before they were rescued with the help of police and fire crews. 

The driver was taken to the Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Lefkosa. Two other occupants of the car, Gökem Demirdöv and Ilyas Yildirim sustained minor injuries and were taken to a hospital in Girne for treatment.
