Four people arrested in Famagusta for drugs, three of them foreigners
The North Cyprus narcotics police have arrested and detained four people of which three were foreign nationals in three separate operation in Famagusta on Wednesday following a tip off.
The police said they seized 13 grams of substance, 200 milligrams of which were believed to be hard drugs in the operation.
The suspects were identified as El Abbas Chrabi, from Morocco, who was arrested for drug offense, Timothy Maronmanica of Zimbabwe, Nyongbela Gang Emil of Cameroon and Hasan Hussein Haksever, from Turkey.
Police witness said Hasan Hussein Haksever, was arrested when trying to cross the border in the south to the north with his car after he was found with 10grams material believed to be cocaine type drugs.
They were brought before a court on Friday while police seek for a one day detention order against the suspects as they continue investigation into the incident.
Police said they have sent the relevant items to the laboratory for inspection, including the bags used in the storage of the items and the materials used.
