Philippine president Duterte lashes out at EU criticism

Philippine: Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte, 71, has blasted the European Union after its parliament joined growing calls for an end to the extrajudicial killings under his anti-drug war in the country.
The European Union Parliament also instructed the EU delegation in the Philippines and the embassies of its 28 member countries in Manila to monitor rights abuses in the country.

Speaking in a speech with local officials on Tuesday, Duterte said;
"I read the EU condemnation and all I can say to them, f**k you," "You are doing it in atonement of your sins."
Duterte described France and Britain as hypocrites for attacking his drug war saying some of them were allegedly involved in the killing of Arabs in the past.

Duterte had in the past slammed the US President Barack Obama and the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon for criticizing his violent anti-drug campaign and expressing concern about human rights abuses.

Police records showed that 1,466 suspected drug users and dealers have been killed in police operations between July 1 when Duterte came into power and September 10.
