Prince William appears on cover of gay magazine, 'Attitude'

UK: 33 year old Prince William has made history by becoming the first member of any royal family to appear on the cover of a gay magazine.  The father of two featured on the cover of the July issue of a lifestyle UK magazine, "Attitude" to speak out against bullying people because of their sexuality, calling on young people being bullied for their sexuality to seek help.

As part of his appearance in the magazine, William held a meeting at Kensington Palace to talk about his stance on bullying and mental health issues among the LGBT community.

 "No one should be bullied for their sexuality or any other reason and no one should have to put up with the kind of hate that these young people have endured in their lives," he said.

He said: ‘The young gay, lesbian and transgender individuals I met through Attitude are truly brave to speak out and to give hope to people who are going through terrible bullying right now.’

‘Their sense of strength and optimism should give us all encouragement to stand up to bullying wherever we see it.’

‘What I would say to any young person reading this who’s being bullied for their sexuality: don’t put up with it.’

‘You should be proud of the person you are and you have nothing to be ashamed of.’

 In show of support to LGBT community, William and Duchess of Cambridge were at the US embassy in the UK to pay tribute to the victims of the Orlando Pulse nightclub shootings which left 50 people dead and 53 wounded, by signing a book of condolence.
The magazine is expected to hit newsstands on Thursday.
