Football Paper Round: Pogba and Real Madrid to negotiate terms

Pogba and Real Madrid negotiate fee
Real Madrid's opening offer of £135k-a-week for Paul Pogba's services has been rejected, according to the Sun. The report says Pogba is in talks over a potential move to Real Madrid, that has been stalled by wage demand negotiations. Pogba's agent Mino Raiola met with Los Blancos director Jose
Angel Sanchez, and it's believed the £135k-a-week offer was well short of the asking price of £200k-a-week Pogba's representation was after. Pogba is also the target of Manchester United, as new manager Jose Mourinho has made the Frenchman a key summer priority.

Everton target Leicester's Kasper Schmeichel
Everton will make a £20 million bid for Leicester shot-stopper Kasper Schmeichel, according to the Sun. Everton's new boss Ronald Koeman has made a goalkeeper his top summer transfer priority, as it's believed the club has failed to convince Manchester City's Joe Hart to come across to Merseyside. Schmeichel, who has two years left on his contract, is likely to tempted him over as Everton seek to replace former no.1 Tim Howard. It comes as new club major shareholder Farhad Moshiri will green-light a big summer spending spree to revamp the squad.

Liverpool to use Jordan Ibe as £30m Mane makeweight
Liverpool will try to tempt Southampton into a deal for Sadio Mane by offering Jordan Ibe, according to the Sun. The report says that the price of Sadio Mane is currently £30 million, with Liverpool looking to knock off £10 million from the deal by adding Ibe's signature, as he would be further behind another starting player if Mane gets to Anfield. Ibe has had some game time for Liverpool, and also loan spells at Birmingham and Derby.

Victor Wanyama close to Spurs deal
Tottenham are confident of an £11 million deal for Victor Wanyama, according to the Mirror. Wanyama has become a Tottenham target as manager Mauricio Pochettino has been keen to add another defensive midfielder ahead of next season, with Spurs having a greater workload due to Champions League duties. Wanyama was bought from Celtic to Southampton for £12.5 million three seasons ago by Pochettino, with negotiations moving in the last 24 hours and the deal close to being completed.
