Orlando shootings: Hostages held in nightclub

US: An unidentified gunman is reportedly holding around 20 hostages during a mass shooting at a nightclub in Orlando, Florida. The occurrence which took place at a local gay bar, Pulse nightclub, issued a Facebook status update of: “Everyone get out of pulse and keep running” after the shooting took place.

Police and paramedics are on ground at the scene of the event. The neighborhood have been shutoff  as part of the crime scene as the operation evolves.
Orlando Police confirmed there were several injuries and warned members of the public to stay away from the area.

“There are injuries. I am not sure if there are any deceased at this time,” said a police dispatcher, describing it as an “active shooting.”

“Officers are going in to search the building and to get people out,” the dispatcher said.

There were some social media post from hostages who are still inside the club, reportedly hiding in a dressing room inside the nightclub.

Eye witnesses who were inside or near the nightclub have expressed their shock and posted videos of the crime scene on social media.
