Big Brother Africa show cancelled for the second year running
Entertainment: Africa’s
leading reality TV show Big Brother Africa has been cancelled for the second
year consecutively, according to organizers. The BBA show which was last held in 2014,
was suspended in 2015.
It was expected to hit the screens
this year. However, according to M-Net, the reality show is not taking place as
it is undergoing an evaluation process.
In
a statement by M-Net, it said;
“M-Net would like to confirm that Big Brother Africa is not part of our upcoming programming schedule.”
“At the moment, the team is busy re-evaluating the strategic direction of Big Brother Africa. Be assured that when it returns, it will be bigger and better,” reads the statement from M-Net.
It further states: “We wish to thank Big Brother Africa fans far and wide for their continuous support over the past editions and promise that the show will go on, on DStv, with new and exciting productions in store from M-Net.”
The BBA show was put on hold in 2015 as Endemol and
M-Net failed to secure sponsorship for the show.
