ISWAP attacks, burns down Christian community in Adamawa Nigeria

The Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) has intensified attacks on Christian communities in northeastern Nigeria, recently burning down a village in Adamawa State.

Security analyst Brant Philip shared details on Thursday, highlighting a video released by the group showing the village engulfed in flames.
“ISWAP released an image of one of the Christian villages in Adamawa State burning, alongside a statement saying that all Christians in Nigeria are legitimate targets, and they have an opportunity to ‘spare their blood’ by converting to Islam or paying the jizyah tax to ISWAP,” Philip wrote on X.

The attack is seen as a response to recent joint airstrikes conducted by the Nigerian and United States militaries against a terrorist stronghold in Sokoto State.
