50 Cent declares ‘New York is over’
Rapper 50 Cent declared that 'New York is over' after Zohran Mamdani was elected mayor and urged locals to flee to the Louisiana city he poured millions into reviving.
The pro-Trump artist, 50, has been flooding his social media with posts denouncing the Democratic-socialist mayoral elect while prompting like-minded New Yorkers to leave the Big Apple for Shreveport
The music mogul, Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson, recently snagged 20 properties in the northwest Louisiana city as part of an estimated $50 million investment into the once-booming oil town near the Texas border, about 190 miles east of Dallas.
'I think his intentions are good, but his tax plan is gonna run the big money out of the city and if he defunds the police they are gonna purge,' Jackson wrote on Instagram the day before the election. 'All Roads lead to SHREVEPORT!'
After Tuesday's election, in which Mamdani assumed his victory over Independent candidate Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa, Jackson reiterated his discontent with the far-left politician.
He shared an image of a tombstone that read, 'RIP NYC,' with the city's death date as 2025.
The 'Candy Shop' rapper also uploaded a since-deleted picture of bin holding a red Yankees hat, a can of Ginger Ale and a bottle of his Branson brand Cognac.
'New York is over pack it up, let's go! THE MAN'S First job is Mayor MAMDANI run New York,' he urgently wrote. 'I need a drink!'

The Queens, New York-born performer has never shied away from slamming Mamdani and making his political beliefs known.
In June, Jackson even went as far as to offer to pay the then-candidate $258,750 - the annual salary of the NYC mayor - and buy him a one-way ticket out of New York.
'Where did he come from? Whose friend is this? I'm not feeling this plan,' Jackson said of Mamdani's goal to hike taxes on the city's wealthiest residents.
'I will give him $258,750 and a first class one-way ticket away from NY.'
Mamdani recently reacted to the proposition on MSNBC's The Beat with Ari Melber.
'I didn't even know what my salary would be until I opened up Instagram and saw this thing that was like, "50 Cent offers Mamdani X amount of money,"' Mamdani said with a smile during the episode that aired the night before the election.
Jackson circulated this news segment when he urged locals to move to Shreveport, which was named America's fifth-most 'needy' city in a 2024 WalletHub study.

The decline of the area's oil industry combined with catastrophic job losses following the closure of a General Motors plant led to a dwindling population and a lack of opportunity.
Jackson has never officially declared a party affiliation and has met with leaders across the aisle to discuss opportunities for black entrepreneurs across the country.
However, he has consistently shown support for President Donald Trump over the years.
Like Jackson, Trump has expressed disapproval of Mamdani and endorsed Cuomo ahead of the election, telling 60 Minutes: 'I’m not a fan of Cuomo one way or the other.
'But if it's gonna be between a bad Democrat and a Communist, I'm gonna pick the bad Democrat all the time.'
