North Cyprus will be without water supply from Sept 9 - 12 due to repair work at Geçitköy pumping station

The Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources has announced that water distribution across the country will be suspended starting tomorrow until 12 September due to urgent repair works at the Geçitköy Pumping Station.

The ministry reminded the public that following a major nationwide power outage on 8 August, the Water Supply Project suffered 13 separate faults. While 12 of these were repaired without requiring a shutdown, officials confirmed that the final fault can only be fixed through a temporary halt in water supply.

Until maintenance and repair works are completed, water needs will be met through local resources. The ministry has urged citizens to use water consciously and sparingly during this period to minimize difficulties.
