North Cyprus government carries out immigration inspections in Lefke and Güzelyurt

As part of its ongoing efforts to combat irregular migration, the government has carried out coordinated inspections targeting foreign nationals in the Lefke and Güzelyurt regions.

The operations were conducted by mobile inspection units of the Ministry of Interior’s Migration Management Center, in collaboration with the Lefke and Güzelyurt district offices and immigration police. During the checks, the residency permits of foreign nationals living in the area were carefully reviewed.

Authorities confirmed that several individuals were found to be residing in the country without valid legal status. Legal proceedings against them have been initiated.

Officials emphasized that such operations will not be limited to specific areas but will continue in a planned and systematic manner across the country.

In a statement, the government underlined its firm stance, noting: “Decisive steps will continue to be taken to prevent irregular migration and safeguard public order. No concessions will be made on this matter.”
