TRNC government declares two individuals as banned immigrants in the country
Lefkosia, Cyprus – July 20, 2025 — The Council of Ministers of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has officially declared two foreign nationals as "prohibited immigrants" following a security evaluation.
According to an official decision, Alexander Ufimtsev, born on October 11, 1960, and a citizen of the Russian Federation, along with Sebile Elif Sucuğ, a citizen of the Republic of Turkey born on April 16, 2004, have both been designated as individuals barred from entering or residing in the TRNC.
The decision cited concerns that the individuals in question may pose a threat to public order, administrative stability, or public morality. Authorities also stated that their actions could potentially incite hostility among the TRNC population or against the state, or involve conspiracies against the authority and powers of the state.
Following a comprehensive evaluation of all findings and evidence, the government concluded that both individuals meet the criteria to be classified as prohibited immigrants under current laws.
No further details regarding the specific actions or circumstances leading to the designation were disclosed. The decision is in line with national security and public interest policies.
