Lefkoşa launches night bus services
Lefkoşa is taking a major step toward modernising its public transport system with the launch of a night-time bus service starting this evening.
Introduced by Lefkoşa Turkish Municipality (LTB), the new service aims to provide safer travel options during late hours, reduce reliance on private vehicles, and support the city’s growing night-time economy.
Night-time public transportation is officially launching in Lefkoşa starting this evening, with buses operating five nights a week from Tuesday to Saturday.
The “Lefkoşa Night Bus Service,” a joint initiative by Lefkoşa Turkish Municipality (LTB) and the Lefkoşa Public Transport Company, is the first step in a broader vision to create a more modern and accessible public transport system.
Operating between 7pm and 1am, the service will run on two fixed routes, with each trip costing 55 TL.
Passengers can pay by credit card.
The service will begin and end at the main Bus Terminal and is designed to ensure safer travel, reduce private vehicle use, and support those working in night-time sectors.
The first route (Terminal–Suriçi–Hamitköy) includes stops at:
Terminal, Kahramanlar Street (Kaymaklı), Küçük Kaymaklı Sports Club,
Yusuf Kaptan Stadium, Girne Gate, across from the Courts, Ledra Palace
traffic lights, former Parliament building, Yenişehir traffic lights,
Terminal Roundabout, Dr. Fazıl Küçük Boulevard, Anıttepe Street
(Hamitköy), Atatürk Street (Hamitköy), Industrial Zone lights, and
Kızılbaş Park.
The second route (Terminal–Dereboyu–Hospital) includes:
Terminal, Girne Gate, Martyrs’ Monument, Dereboyu, Prime Ministry
lights, Ortaköy lights, Civil Defence Roundabout, Çetinkaya Sports Club
(Metehan), Purple Circle (Women’s Violence Awareness), Öğretmenler
Street, Hospital Roundabout, Göçmenköy lights, Taşkınköy lights, in

LTB officials say this service marks a new chapter in creating safer, more connected, and environmentally responsible urban mobility for the capital.
