Cost of Living on the rise in north Cyprus as prices of beer and cigarettes increases by 5 and,10 TL

In the wake of the recent adjustment to the minimum wage based on the cost of living, a new wave of price hikes has begun across various sectors. 

Notably, some tobacco products and popular beer brands have seen a significant increase in prices.

According to information obtained by Kıbrıs Postası, certain tobacco products have gone up by 5 TL. The updated retail prices for these products are as follows:

-Davidoff Classic: 91 TL

-Davidoff Gold: 91 TL

-Davidoff Classic Slims: 91 TL

-Davidoff Gold Slims: 91 TL

-Davidoff One: 91 TL

-Davidoff One Slims: 91 TL

-Davidoff C Line: 88 TL

-Davidoff C Line Purple Green: 88 TL

In addition to tobacco, consumers will also feel the impact of price hikes in alcoholic beverages. Several beer brands are reportedly experiencing an increase of 10 TL per unit.

On Monday, the Minimum Wage Determination Commission convened and agreed on a 17.79% increase in the national minimum wage. Under the new arrangement, the gross minimum wage has been set at 51,202 TL, while the net wage stands at 44,546 TL.

These changes come as part of broader efforts to mitigate the effects of rising living costs; however, they also bring with them a ripple effect of price adjustments in consumer goods.
