Three arrested in south Cyprus during police operation targeting illegal residents
Three individuals were arrested on Sunday in central Nicosia south during a large-scale police operation targeting illegal residency in south Cyprus, authorities announced.
The coordinated operation took place in the walled city and involved inspections of two buildings and checks on 124 people. The effort was carried out jointly by police and various state services.
According to police, the operation is part of a broader initiative spearheaded by the justice minister and the deputy minister of migration, aimed at enhancing public safety.
In addition to the arrests, authorities uncovered multiple violations related to hygiene, safety, and tax regulations. Each relevant department will now follow up on these issues within their areas of responsibility.
Officials said similar operations will continue as part of ongoing efforts to maintain law and order in the capital.
