Pakistani delivery driver dies in road accident in Cyprus
A 21-year-old food delivery driver, named as Pakistani national Abu Zar died in a fatal collision in Limassol south Cyprus on Sunday night.
The accident happened at 9.25pm on Spyros Kyrianou Avenue, Limassol police spokesman Marios Charalambous said. In circumstances under investigation, a 55-year-old car driver who attempted to turn into Gregoris Afxentiou Street, collided with a motorcycle moving in the same direction, fatally injuring its 21-year-old driver.
The motorcycle driver was taken to Limassol general hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after midnight.The 55-year-old car driver underwent a preliminary alcohol and drug test, with zero result, while he was arrested on a court warrant and taken under custody.
Limassol traffic police are furthering the investigation.
