Activist on hunger strike for Gaza ‘attacked in Cyprus
Pro-Palestinian activist Louis Allan, currently staging a hunger strike for Gaza on a tree in Engomi, was reportedly attacked by two people and robbed off his Palestine flags on Tuesday afternoon.
Speaking to the Cyprus Mail, the activist said he was approached by two boys in their early twenties speaking to him in Hebrew.
The situation reportedly escalated when the boys stole the Palestinian flags he had put up in his tree and ran away with them.
He later said that 10 people then returned to the scene and hurled insults in his direction.
Tuesday marks the second day of Allan’s hunger strike during which he drinks only the amount of water, 2 litres, currently available to people in Gaza.
His strike is set to last until Saturday midday.
