12 arrested for not wearing mask in TRNC
Twelve people were arrested at the weekend in north Cyprus for disregarding the order to wear a mask while in public which came into force on Friday.
33 people were arrested for violating the restrictions on movement between 6:00am on Saturday to 6:am on Sunday of which 12 were for not wearing a mask.
Those found without a mask, are subject to a fine, equivalent to 10 per cent of the minimum wage or face up to a year in jail.
The 12 will be prosecuted by the police.
