Seven more cases confirmed in Southern Cyprus bringing total to 21

Seven more cases of coronavirus was confirmed in south Cyprus on Friday night bringning the total cases in the country to 21. 

In an announcement by the Cyprus Health Ministry on Friday night, five people who are in home isolation and had close contact with two confirmed coronavirus cases that were detected in previous days. 

They were examined as part of the tracing of contacts of confirmed cases. One person was being treated at Limassol Hospital and one person had recently travelled to the UK and was in home isolation and contacted authorities on developing symptoms

The Health Ministry has started tracing the contacts of the seven new patients so as to carry out tests.

This brings the total of confirmed cases in south Cyprus to 21.

Seven of the 21 confirmed cases are from the same family and were detected as part of the Health Ministry’s contact tracing measures.

The clinical condition of all 21 is fairly good, with all of them exhibiting mild symptoms, Cyprus Health Ministry official said on Saturday.
