Woman arrested and detained in Lefkosa, north Cyprus for begging

A woman who was found begging in Lefkosa, north Cyprus has been arrested and detained.

The woman, Ecevit Yusuf, a 37-year-old Turkish citizen was detected and arrested on Tuesday afternoon.

She was found to have illegally obtained 127.65 TL by begging.

***But is begging a crime?
