Fire in Girne apartment caused by electric blanket destroys several properties

Fire broke out in an apartment located opposite Buyuk Anadolu Hotel in Girne, north Cyprus.

According to report, the fire incident which happened at about 2:20pm on Monday was caused by a faulty electric blanket being used in the living room of the apartment.

The Girne fire service quickly intervened by breaking the glass window of the apartment to gain entry into the burning flat.

Some properties in the apartment including the air conditioning unit, micro wave, television and curtains were destroyed by the fire but no one was injured in the incident.
