Student found with drugs in university dorm

A student has been detained after police found drugs hidden inside his book in his dorm room in Famagusta.

The arrest was made after a search was carried out by the narcotics police in a student dorm in Famagusta on Wednesday.

Police said synthetic cannabionid type of drug weighing 1 gram wa found inside an Arabic book in the room of a Jordanian student.

Police said the accused was violent and aggressive during the arrest and tried to hit his head on the bars and remove his clothes.

He was given a two day detention order pending trial.
