Turtle makes epic journey from North Cyprus to Spain
A North Cyprus turtle tracked from TRNC has made an epic journey after it arrived Spain's Costa del Sol on a
marathon journey of between 3,000 and 5,000 kilometres -- thought to be
the longest yet recorded.
The turtle named Nehir (River), was tracked through satellite by the North Cyprus Society for the Protection of Turtles (SPOT) as it makes the almost 5,000 kilometer journey from North Cyprus to Spain.
Every year, endangered green and loggerhead turtles migrate thousands of kilometres to nest on the beaches of North Cyprus.
