Electricity prices in North Cyprus not reflecting drop in oil prices

The fall in oil prices has not reflected equally on electricity prices in North Cyprus and despite the drop of 45 percent in oil prices, the price of electricity only decreased by 23 percent.

The TRNC Economic data report has shown that the decrease in oil prices did not reflect on electricity sales prices.

By comparison, the consumer in the north does not benefit as much from falling oil prices compared to South Cyprus where electricity prices had decreased in line with the price of oil.
