North Cyprus Election: Better days ahead - Akinci
Turkish Cypriot president Mustafa Akinci and Assembly Speaker Sibel Siber on Sunday join other Turkish Cypriot in voting in the country's geneal elections to elect new lawmakers.
50 people will be elected into Assembly of the Republic.
Speaking to press men, Akinci noted that he had preserved his neutrality as promised two and a half years ago when it came to the elections being held in north Cyprus.
Akinci was accompanied by his wife Meral, who both voted at the primary school close to where they live.
Akinci said that after the elections he hoped the result would lead the people to better days.
Voting was running smoothly since 8am and will close at 6pm.
