Good news as baby Judi gets new home
Good news for baby Judi who was abandoned in a North Cyprus hospital by his Nigerian parents because he was disabled as he finds a new home.
In September, we brought you a report about an eight and a half months old handicapped baby who needs help, to help find her Nigerian mother who abandoned him to his fate at the Lefkosa Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital because he was handicapped. Read here.
The good news is that Judi has found a new home after he was handed over to a foster parents on Thursday.
According to a report by Turkish Cypriot daily, Yeniduzen, Judi who is now eleven months old and had been under the care of the Lefkosa Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital for months was taken from the hospital by his new guardian family on Thursday and taken to his new home.
According to the newspaper, the director of the Department of Social Services, Aydan Baskurt stated that the baby had found a protective family.
According to the director, the application made by the family for the baby was thoroughly investigated because the baby was in need of special care, adding that the family was educated on how to care for the baby, report yeniduzen.
He also said that the department will carry out a routine check on the baby.
