‘We want government to legalise prostitution'- Ghanaian s*x workers

sex workers in Ghana are calling on the government to legalize
prostitution in the country due to the economic situation in the
country.
The group from Adansi-Obuasi in the Ashanti region of Ghana are appealing to the government to as a matter of urgency legalize the trade to enable them operate freely or provide them with an alternative jobs.
The prostitutes who claim they only operates in fear while doing business with clients says the need for legalize the trade will enable them work in the morning, afternoon and evening without being harassed by security personnel and according to them life has been unbearable considering the current economic conditions in the country.
They also promised to vote massively for any presidential candidate that will listen to their cry.
A representative of the Adansi-Obuasi sex workers, Mama Sweet, who spoke in an interview with Shaft FM said;
The group from Adansi-Obuasi in the Ashanti region of Ghana are appealing to the government to as a matter of urgency legalize the trade to enable them operate freely or provide them with an alternative jobs.

A representative of the Adansi-Obuasi sex workers, Mama Sweet, who spoke in an interview with Shaft FM said;
‘We want government to legalise prostitution by giving us licenses to operate, so that we can work morning, afternoon and evening. Some of us were introduced into prostitution by our friends due to lack of financial support from family members.’
