Lil Wayne doesn’t feel connected to Black Lives Matter Movement

US rapper Lil Wayne has caused social media outrage after he gave a shocking reply to a question during an interview with ABC Nightline.

When asked about the Black Lives Matter movement, a liberation movement, a call to action and a response to the anti-Black racism that permeates the society and extrajudicial killings of Black people by police and security operatives in the US, Lil Wayne responded and said he feels no connection to the movement.
“What is it? What do you mean? That just sounds weird. I don’t know, that you put a name on it…It’s not a name, it’s not, ‘whatever whatever.’ It’s somebody got shot by a policeman for a fucked up reason said Lil Wayne.

“I am a young, black rich motherfucker,” he continues in the edited clip. “If that don’t let you know that America understand black motherfuckers matter these days, I don’t know what it is. That man white, he filmin’ me. I’m a nigga. I don’t know what you mean, man. Don’t come at me with that dumb shit, man. My life matter. Especially to my bitches.”

On his connection with the movement, Lil said;

“I don’t feel connected to a damn thing that ain’t got nothin’ to do with me. If you do, you crazy as shit. You. Not the camera. You. Feeling connected to something that ain’t got nothing to do with you? If it ain’t got nothing to do with me, I ain’t connected to it.”
