George H.W Bush to 'vote for Hillary Clinton'

US: Former US president and Republican party member, George H.W. Bush, 92 has said he plans to vote for Democratic party presidential candidate Hillary Clinton at the upcoming US election in November, said a member of the Kennedy family on Monday.

According to reports from news website Politico and the Guardian who both cited a Facebook post by former Maryland Lt. Gov. Kathleen Hartington Kennedy Townsend who confirmed the conversation she had while meeting Bush in Maine, reportedly shared a Facebook photo of herself with the former president, saying "The President told me he's voting for Hillary!"

But Bush's spokesman, Jim McGrath, who did not confirm the news said in a statement that the former president will vote as a private citizen.
“The vote President Bush will cast as a private citizen in some 50 days will be just that: a private vote cast in 50 days. He is not commenting on the presidential race in the interim,” McGrath said.
McGrath later said on Twitter that he's "still checking" if anyone was there to verify Townsend's conversation.

Bush had previously said he would not endorse Trump. His son and former Republican president George W. Bush also said he would not be voting for Trump.
