spread like wide fire through the internet and newspapers just three months after the pair had started dating. And just few hours after the trending news of the day, ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris has come out to addressed his split from Swift for the first
time since the former couple parted way in June, disclosing that he was not prepared for "all hell to break loose" when
they broke up.
Just few hours after news of Swift's split from Tom made headlines, Calvin, 32 sat with GQ magazine and opened up about his relationship with
the pop singer and also the Twitter spat where Calvin blasted Swift on social media shortly after it was confirmed she had co-wrote his hit 'This Is What You Came For'.
"It was completely the wrong instinct," he said. "I was protecting what I see as my one talent in the world being belittled.
"It
felt like things were piling on top of me and that was when I snapped.
I’m not good at being a celebrity, but when it ended, all hell broke
loose.
"It clearly wasn't right, so it ended, but all the stuff that happened afterwards…"
Speaking to how is split with Swift played out in the headlines, Calvin said;
"It’s
very difficult when something I consider so personal plays out very
publicly.
"The aftermath of the relationship was way more heavily publicised than the relationship itself.
"When we were together, we were very careful for it not to be a media circus. She respected my feelings in that sense."
Calvin was named the Patron Solo Artist Of The Year trophy last night at the GQ Men of the Year Awards.
