One dead and 14 missing after China boat capsize

China: A child was killed and 14 people missing after a leisure boat capsized on a large lake in southwestern China, according to local authorities.

Guangyun city authorities say the incident happened on Saturday afternoon on Bailong lake, a man-made lake that translates as "White Dragon" with an area of more than 60 square kilometers in Sichuan province.

In an online statement from the Guangyuan city government, late Saturday, it said that the boat was carrying 18 people and that the three survivors were receiving treatment.

The child was pulled out from the water and given emergency treatment, but died at a hospital.

Search for the missing persons are still ongoing at the time of the report.
