Legendary boxer Muhammad Ali placed on life support as he battles for his life

US: Legendary boxer Muhammad Ali, 74 has been placed on life support on Thursday as his medical condition continues to deteriorate, as his family gather around his bedside. Doctors fear that the end is near for the boxing icon.

Ali is presently in intensive care in an undisclosed facility after it was learnt he could barely breathe at his home. Ali has been battling with respiratory problem which was further complicated by his Parkinson's disease.
Ali family spokesman, Bob Gunnell, in a statement on Thursday said that
“A brief hospital stay is expected. At this time, the Muhammad Ali family respectfully requests privacy.”
Unfortunately, the condition appears to have worsened since the statement.
'Doctors are telling the family that it likely won’t be long until he passes away,' said one insider. Another insider reported that his vitals 'are terrible,' adding; 'He needs every bit of fight he’s got left to live.'
In an interview on Friday, his third wife Veronica Porche said that her two daughters with Ali, Laila and Hana, were on their way to see their father.
'My daughters have both flown there and I will be hearing from them when they arrive at the hospital,' Porche told Radar Online.'I can’t comment more than that but I will say it is not so great, I’ll just say that much. He’s a real hero. It’s a sad situation.'
Ali's second wife, Khalilah, also said that one of her daughters was runing off to see the boxer in the hospital.
