Benin residents told not to cook with fire on Sunday as part of the funreal rites of late Oba of Benin

Nigeria: In a press statement signed and released by Secretary to the Benin Traditional Council, Mr. Frank Irabor, as part of series of activities in the ongoing 15 days funeral rights of the late Oba of Benin, Oba Erediauwa, residents of Benin has been advised not to cook with fire on Sunday 5th of
June- the day of Igberimwin in the royal funeral rites programme.
According to the statement, cooking without fire is in accordance with Benin customs and tradition.  The statement enjoins, all Binis and non-indigenes in the kingdom to honor the Igberimwin rites.
