Cyprus update: Cyprus leaders reaffirms commitment for speedy checkpoint openings
Last year, the two leaders agreed to the opening of the two crossings.
Turkish Cypriot leader, Akinci had earlier met with members of the United Nations Development Department (UNDP), the EU support office, and the UNFICYP to measures that will help facilitate the quick opening of the crossings.
In May, the Greek Cypriot head of the technical committee for crossing points, Sotos Zacheos, said it will not take more than five to seven months to see the opening of the Dherynia crossing.
Speaking concerning the Lefka crossing in the Morphou area, he had said it would be delayed due to a number of environmental and infrastructural factors.
