Man commits murder when he finds out his new girlfriend is a man

Texas College football player, Carlton Champion  Jr. 21, met his 24 year old girlfriend Tyrone Lee Underwood in a dating mobile app and fell in love with her without seeing her.  The pair had been chatting for weeks.

Tyrone decided to end the relationship when she felt Champion was cheating on her and by so doing she sent him a text to that effect. On getting the text, Champion sent Tyrone a text apologizing saying he would make it up to her because he love her. So they decided to meet each other for the first time.
Police were called by neighbors who said they heard several gun shots in the area. When Police got there, they found a Toyota Camry by the road side and a dead black male behind the wheel who had been shot.
Underwood's friends were interview by the police and her computer was checked and it was discovered that Champion was the last person she chatted with.
During police investigation, Champion's father, Carlton Champion Sr., was interviewed who "stated that he heard Carlton Jr. was meeting the victim and thought the victim was a female."
Officer Nathan Elliott wrote in the arrest affidavit. "According to Champion Sr., Carlton Jr. was supposed to get some type of sexual favor from the victim but realized the victim was a male."
Champion was later arrested on Thursday and charged with murder.
A surveillance camera caught Champion leaving his College dorm at about 2 am.
The campus surveillance video also showed Champion returning to his college dorm just 15 minutes after he had initially left, wearing a black leather jacket. The jacket was tested and it came out positive for blood.
He is currently jailed at Smith County with a bail fee of $1million.
