A Nigerian man who traveled home to attend his younger brothers wedding has been thrown out of his marriage by his wife after his return to the UK and now facing deportation from the UK.

According to the founder of Nigerians in the UK, NIUK, Oluomo of Derby, he got a DM from a Nigerian sister, explaining how her little cousin has been thrown out of the house and now detained, because he dared to go to Nigeria to attend his little brother’s wedding.

Sharing the DM on X, he tweeted;

”@Oluomoofderby; I have just spoken with one of our brothers, who is currently detained, and reassured him that we are going to do our very best to support him and help him get out of this situation. I have already involved a lawyer, and we will continue to do everything we can within the law to assist him.

”Some of the issues happening within our community need to stop. It is completely unacceptable.

”If you and someone decide that you are no longer compatible or that your relationship has come to an end, it does not mean you should try to destroy your former partner’s life.

”We also need to address the behaviour of some main applicants who act as though they are mini-gods, believing they have the power to control or determine the future of others.

”We have to stop destroying one another within the Nigerian community in the UK. Disagreements and relationship breakdowns should not constantly escalate into situations that can have serious consequences for people’s lives and futures.

”Honestly, I am sick and tired of seeing these kinds of issues happening almost every other day.

”We need to do better as a community. We need more compassion and a willingness to resolve issues without trying to destroy one another. ”
