‘I started ‘casting out demons at 17-18’ – Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo claims

Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has recounted his early involvement in spiritual activities, recalling how he started “casting out demons” when he was 17 years old.

Okpebholo made the disclosure during a church service at The Votage Church on Sunday, where he reflected on his youth and experiences dealing with what he described as spiritual battles and cultism.

Addressing worshippers during the service, the governor said their presence in church reminded him of his own experiences as a teenager.

“When I see young ones standing in the presence of God, I remember at 17, 18, I had also started casting out demons,” Okpebholo said.

He said his experiences as a young man gave him a personal understanding of some of the challenges facing youths, particularly insecurity and cult-related activities.

“Fighting insecurity, especially cultism, is not a new thing to me. It is something that has been happening,” he added.

He also spoke about the influence of the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa on his spiritual background.
