Brymo accuses Burna Boy of buying Grammy Award, responds to diss lyric
Nigerian singer Brymo has responded to Burna Boy’s recent lyrical jab, using his appearance on the NotJustOk podcast to address the ongoing rivalry between the two artistes.
During the interview, Brymo dismissed Burna Boy’s relevance to his music, stating that he would never mention the Grammy-winning singer in any of his songs because he does not consider him important enough.
The singer also made the unverified claim that Burna Boy’s Grammy Award was bought.
“I told him your name no go ever appear for my song. You’re not that important. Who’s your mate? You won a Grammy, and so what? It was bought now. I’ve been told to pay $10,000 for a BET Award before,” Brymo said.
Brymo further questioned Burna Boy’s musical abilities, arguing that talent should be measured by an artiste’s ability to perform, write and sing rather than by the awards they have won.
“Can you perform, can you write, can you sing? I don’t care what fraternity you belong to,” he added.
Brymo’s remarks come after Burna Boy referenced him in one of his songs with the lyric: “Hustle make you no fall off like Brymo.”
The exchange is the latest chapter in the long-running feud between the two musicians, who have repeatedly traded words over the years. There has been no public response from Burna Boy to Brymo’s latest comments at the time of filing this report.
Editor's Note: Brymo's allegation that Burna Boy bought his Grammy Award is unsubstantiated and has not been supported by any publicly available evidence.
