Northern Cyprus records highest annual inflation rate in Europe
Recent data comparing annual inflation rates across European countries show that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) ranks first, with an inflation rate of 39.45 percent, highlighting the ongoing challenge of rising prices across the region.
According to the published figures, inflation remains a significant issue in many European economies. Turkey stands out with an annual inflation rate of approximately 31 percent, placing it among the countries with the highest inflation in Europe. Other countries, including Ukraine, Romania and Russia, are also drawing attention with double-digit inflation rates.
When the TRNC’s data are included in the comparison, the picture becomes even more striking. With an annual inflation rate of 39.45 percent, the TRNC surpasses all other countries listed, positioning it as the economy experiencing the highest inflation rate in Europe. The figures underline the severity of cost-of-living pressures in the TRNC, where price increases continue to outpace those seen in neighboring and regional economies, further straining household budgets and economic stability.
