World’s oldest cat Flossie turns 30
The world’s oldest cat turned 30 yesterday, reaching an age equivalent to approximately 140-150 years in human terms.
Flossie was born on 29 December 1995 and has long been listed in the Guinness Book of Records for her exceptional longevity. Despite her advanced age, Flossie remains active, waking early for breakfast before spending her day sleeping and playing.

Flossie lived with her first owner for 10 years until his death, after which she was adopted by the first owner’s sister. She lived with her second owner for another 14 years, until that owner’s death as well.
Today, Flossie lives in Orpington, England, with her current owner, Victoria Green.
Speaking to the Guardian last year, Green revealed she bought Flossie a small ladder to climb onto the sofa.

Green said Flossie has lived so long mainly thanks to luck and because her previous owners loved her. The cat now follows a special diet but remains very active for her age.

Although Green bought her a small ladder for the sofa, Flossie has not used it at all and continues to jump everywhere.
