Magnitude 3.9 earthquake hits Limassol region of Cyprus

An earthquake of magnitude 3.9 hit Cyprus on Wednesday evening.

The earthquake, registering 3.9 on the Richter scale occurred at around 7.35pm on Wednesday.

According to the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, the epicentre of the earthquake was reported near Pissouri, around 36 kilometres from Limassol.

The earthquake had a focal depth of 9 kilometres.

As of now, no reports of damage have been made public.

The earthquake follows after several minor tremors struck the island within the last month.
