Jake Dennis wins São Paulo E-Prix as horror crash stops race
Jake Dennis won the inaugural Formula E race in São Paulo, yet his victory was overshadowed by the shocking accident involving newcomer Pepé Martí.
Martí touched two cars at high speed with only a few laps remaining, launching his vehicle into the air. The car spun multiple times before it crashed, immediately prompting a red flag and a lengthy stoppage of the race.
Fortunately, the Spanish driver emerged unharmed. However, the dramatic images caused shock and reignited the safety debate surrounding the São Paulo track, where a car has flipped for the second consecutive year.
