Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis stopped at traffic check in athens

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis was briefly stopped by traffic police during a routine roadside check in Athens while returning from an evening dinner.

According to reports, traffic police teams conducting standard inspections in the Greek capital halted the vehicle carrying Prime Minister Mitsotakis and Minister for Citizen Protection Michalis Chrysochoidis as part of the operation. In line with procedure, both officials were asked to undergo a breathalyzer test.

The results showed that neither Mitsotakis nor Chrysochoidis had consumed alcohol. Following the check, the prime minister reportedly chatted briefly with police officers and posed for a commemorative photograph before continuing on his way.

The incident drew attention as an example of routine law enforcement procedures being applied without exception, even to the country’s highest-ranking officials.
