Putin allegedly had secret parallel relationship with young model

New reports concerning Russian President Vladimir Putin’s personal life were published by the independent investigative outlet Proekt, which quotes sources with knowledge of the «supposed contacts.

According to the report, Putin allegedly maintained a parallel and secret relationship for years with the young Alisa Kharcheva, who had participated in beauty contests and posed in a revealing calendar dedicated to his birthday.

These reports follow earlier rumours concerning the Russian president’s personal life and his relationship with Alina Kabaeva, who appeared publicly by his side. Proekt maintains that the new evidence relies on testimonies from individuals who had knowledge of the alleged relationship, though none of the information is officially confirmed.

According to Proekt, Alisa Kharcheva was only 17 years old when, as its sources claim, she began having secret meetings with the then Prime Minister of Russia. The publication states that Kharcheva was discreetly transported to Putin’s official residence in Novo-Ogaryovo or another secured location approximately twice a month. These visits reportedly coincided with periods when Alina Kabaeva—Putin’s long-term partner and the alleged mother of two of his children—was absent. Proekt cites individuals who claim that «relations between the two began shortly» after the sending of a revealing calendar to the Kremlin, in which Kharcheva had participated as a model.

The Calendar that Opened the Door to the Kremlin

The calendar in question was created by members of the pro-Kremlin youth movement Nashi, who—according to the report—sought to boost their influence within Putin’s inner circle. Along with the calendar, the contact details of the young women who had posed were sent to the Russian leader’s associates. As Proekt‘s sources claim, shortly afterwards, Kharcheva received a phone call inviting her to a meeting at the Prime Minister’s residence in Novo-Ogaryovo. It is unclear who made the call, while—according to the publication—a rumour circulates that Putin had been impressed by her photograph in the calendar.

Kharcheva subsequently appeared on television talking about the calendar and later reached the finals of the “Miss Russia” beauty pageant, despite the fact that—as the Proekt journalists report—her selection process was characterised as “unusually fast.” Simultaneously, according to Proekt, her public profile continued while her alleged personal relationship with Putin remained completely secret.

The report notes that Nashi officials tried to use Kharcheva as a “channel” to promote their requests and interests to Putin. However, the same sources claim that none of these initiatives bore fruit and may have even caused annoyance to the Russian leader.

According to Proekt‘s “revelations,” Putin allegedly helped Kharcheva’s father secure an important job position, while she herself is said to have been admitted to the top diplomatic university MGIMO and acquired a luxury apartment in Moscow. When questioned about the rumours of a relationship with Putin, Kharcheva is said to have only responded: «No one has ever asked me such silly questions,» yet she did not issue a direct denial. Today, according to the reports, she appears as the co-owner of a luxury tanning studio chain.

The Image of the ‘Protector of Traditional Values’ and Private Life

Proekt‘s revelations follow a recent book which claims that Putin—although he publicly projects himself as a defender of traditional family values—allegedly prefers more “free” relationships in his private life. The Russian president himself has stated in the past that his personal life «does not permit interference» and has criticised those who «poke their noses and their erotic fantasies into the lives of others.» These new testimonies, however, reignite the discussion surrounding the discrepancy between his public image and his alleged choices in the private sphere.
