Camera captures terrifying moment woman is blown across road by gale-force winds in New Zealand
A shocking moment was captured by a car camera where gale-force winds flung a woman into the middle of the road in New Zealand.
The video shows trees and traffic lights shaking from the strong winds and a woman attempting to hold onto something to remain standing.
However, her attempt proved insufficient, as the winds threw her into the air and dropped her in the middle of the road.
Fortunately for the woman, the drivers of two cars that happened to be passing the spot at the crucial moment managed to brake in time.
New Zealand’s Meteorological Service has issued a red warning for several areas of the country, referring to wind gusts up to 140 km/h and a “severe risk to life from flying objects and fallen trees.”
The western side of New Zealand has received 100-180 millimetres of rain in the last 24 hours, while a new warning has been issued for a “more severe” weather system set to arrive today, Thursday.
